As part of the Aspen Meadows site of the Aspen Institute, the Doerr-Hosier Center provides meeting space for world-renowned leaders, interactive conferences, political engagement and lectures. Materials used were architectural concrete, composite steel and precast concrete. The building design includes abundant glass, stone floors, courtyards and a distinctive terrace fireplace. The site features a sandstone wall that winds within the interior and exterior of the building by famed sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. The LEED Gold building was constructed using low-impact materials, making the most of natural lighting and devising a geothermal reflecting pool to heat and cool the building.
